Warner’s Sledge Backfires: Smith Falls First Ball

Before Steve Smith could bat, David Warner tried to distract him by talking. Warner wanted to disturb Smith, who is his teammate in Australia’s cricket team.

“David Warner, who recently stopped playing Test cricket, came back to play in the Big Bash League. He arrived at the Sydney Cricket Ground in a helicopter for the match between Thunder and Sixers. Steve Smith, his teammate, was on the Sixers’ bench. The teams have had interesting exchanges in the past, and now, Sixers batted first.”

The interesting little exchange has gone viral on social media.

Smith had the final laugh as the Sixers won their fifth consecutive game against the Thunder. Needing 152 to win, Smith, the retired Test opener, scored 37 from 39 balls on a slow SCG wicket. Unfortunately, he didn’t get much support, and the Thunder were all out for 132 in the last over.

Right now, the Sixers are in second place on the table with 12 points, but they’re four points behind the unbeaten Brisbane Heat, who are leading. Meanwhile, the Thunder are second from the bottom with only one win in eight matches.
