Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are gearing up for the IPL auctions with a keen focus on bolstering their bowling lineup to support pace ace Mohammad Siraj, emphasized the team’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat.
With the retention of 18 players, including stalwarts like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell, RCB’s release of 11 players, notably Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Josh Hazlewood, has highlighted the team’s aim to fortify their bowling resources.
“Supporting Siraj with additional bowling options, especially overseas picks, is a key priority for us,” Bobat affirmed, emphasizing Siraj’s pivotal role in the team’s strategy.
While reinforcing their bowling arsenal is on the agenda, Bobat also praised RCB’s local spinners’ strong core, indicating their potential to take on more prominent roles in upcoming seasons.
RCB’s recent trade of Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians for ₹17.5 crore aimed to bolster their middle-order, augmenting their batting might.
Bobat expressed satisfaction with the team’s retained core and formidable top order while highlighting the strategic decisions made to fortify the middle order. The acquisition of Cameron Green was hailed as a significant move to achieve this objective.
Armed with a purse of ₹40.75 crore and seven slots available, RCB eyes strategic signings to complement their existing squad.
