The exclusion of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the Afghanistan T20Is raised eyebrows, sparking discussions on social media. Ishan’s prior decision to skip Tests and Shreyas’ struggle in the series contributed to the surprise. The recent report citing disciplinary issues and selectors’ concerns about Ishan’s activities after opting out of Tests have potential repercussions on his T20 World Cup chances. Meanwhile, Shreyas is advised to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy to address selector dissatisfaction with his shot choices in the South Africa Test series.

Many were surprised when Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were not chosen for the squad, and this news created a lot of talk on social media. Before this, Ishan had decided not to play in two Tests against South Africa due to personal reasons, and Shreyas struggled in the series, only scoring 41 runs in four innings.

According to a recent report that Ishan and Shreyas were left out of the Afghanistan T20Is due to disciplinary reasons.

The report mentioned that selectors were upset with Ishan for partying with MS Dhoni in Dubai after skipping the Test series. Ishan also appeared on a TV quiz show. The report suggested that these actions could lead to him being left out of the T20 World Cup squad. As for Shreyas, selectors weren’t happy with his shot choices in the South Africa Test series. They wanted him to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy after coming back home.

The report also said that the committee led by Ajit Agarkar plans to be strict with players who don’t give importance to Test and first-class cricket. However, they were impressed with Rinku Singh and Shubman Gill’s dedication. Rinku Singh might soon get an opportunity to play in the traditional format.
