In the ongoing first test match of the series between India and South Africa, The South African fielders took to the field as right-arm pacer Kagiso Rabada initiated the attack for the hosts, facing the two India openers – Captain Rohit Sharma and the emerging talent Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The opening over from Kagiso Rabada was well played by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who skillfully negotiated the deliveries until he found an opportunity to clip a ball onto the pads for a stylish four, initiating both his and India’s scoring.
From the opposite end, left-arm fast bowler Marco Jansen joined the attack. His first delivery induced an inside edge from Rohit Sharma’s bat, which was fielded by Tony de Zorzi. Rohit managed to secure a single on the next delivery, followed by three dot balls from Jansen. Despite hitting a boundary subsequently, Rohit succumbed to a short ball in the following over, a trap that enticed his characteristic pull shot, resulting in a catch at fine leg when he was on 5. A moment of disappointment for the Indian captain.
